Create a Strategic Plan

The next step is to create a specific strategic plan to implement on campus and/or in the surrounding community. It is vital to develop a plan that will create the desired change. Careful strategic planning ensures the following outcomes:

• The problem being addressed is clear.
• The end results, or goals, are clear.
• The change will be appropriate and will reflect readiness, local problems, and effective approaches.
• All program activities and policies can be logically linked to the achievement of specific goals, and
• Limited resources and staff time are spent effectively.
