National Database of Local Policies

University of Minnesota, School of Public Health, Alcohol Epidemiology Program

Researchers at the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health, Alcohol Epidemiology Program created a national database of local policies that restrict the sale of high-alcohol malt liquor and/or fortified wine. The database can be searched by city, policy type, and restriction type, and it includes links to policy examples. The database will be useful to researchers, policymakers, community organizers, and other individuals interested in learning more about local alcohol control and/or high-alcohol products. The data come from a telephone survey of alcohol policy and enforcement officials in the 100 largest cities in the United States.
