“Town officials want to increase the financial penalties for various alcohol- and noise-related offenses in Amherst.”

“The Select Board voted unanimously Monday to recommend that Town Meeting raise the fines for violations of the open container, unlawful noise and keg bylaws to $300 apiece, the maximum fines allowed by the state, and eliminate any tiered structure for multiple violations of the bylaws…”
