Clemson students try to curb drinking and driving with Think Ahead campaign

"A group of Clemson University students would like to do something to reduce [alcohol-related deaths] in their corner of the world. The group wants to remind their fellow students that if they drink alcohol, then there are options instead of driving themselves -- and others -- home."

"'This campaign will allow all students and community members the ability to effectively use all the resources that Clemson has to offer and ensure that students know that there is always an alternative to drinking and driving,' said Michael Lussier, a sophomore from Summerville majoring in civil engineering and chair of EMpower Clemson’s student advisory board, in a statement..."

"EMpower Clemson Director Kathy Cauthen said reduction of drunken driving is just part of the effort to reduce alcohol abuse, and the group wants to encourage alternative events and other choices as well as educate those who do drink about the consequences..."
