"Huntington City Council on Tuesday will consider the first reading of an ordinance placing a moratorium on permits for new bars, nightclubs and taverns in the downtown for one year..."

"He cited a survey conducted by a Marshall University psychology class last year as part of the planning process for the Old Main Corridor project on 4th Avenue. The project aims to provide a better link between Marshall and downtown through enhanced landscaping and lighting, bicycle lanes and incentives for small-business owners..."

"The survey also asked students to express how much they might support certain business ideas on 4th Avenue. Of the seven ideas that students could choose from, only fast-food restaurants received less support than bars. Bars also garnered the second-most opposition among the seven options..."
