CSU uses conflict resolution program to handle alcohol violations

"Students contacted by police for a minor alcohol offense their first time are directed through the University's Conflict Resolution and Student Conduct Services. The student is asked to explain the incident and take an online assessment where alcohol risk factors can be calculated."
"Risk is determined by questions on family history, personal history, frequency and negative consequences, Hudgens said. The student will then be referred through an educational program teaching them about alcohol used based on their determined risk..."
"A student who is caught in violation a second or third time, however, will be run through the university's system and issued the proper criminal citation..."
