"The number of University of Florida students sent to the hospital for alcohol-related problems has dropped substantially over the past few years, the latest piece of good news for university officials working to cut down on excessive drinking."

"Eight students living on campus were transported to Shands at UF or other facilities for alcohol poisoning and similar issues last fall, compared with 26 in fall 2006. The period coincides with a time in which UF has stepped up advertising campaigns, educational efforts and punitive measures aimed at reducing alcohol abuse. ..."
