The Higher Education Center is pleased to make the following announcements:
1) Call for Participation: National LGBT College Climate Survey
The Q Research Institute for Higher Education (QRIHE), owned and operated by Campus Pride, is seeking undergraduate and graduate students, staff, faculty, and administrators who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or a transgender (LGBT) people to participate in the National LGBT College Climate Survey. Participation in the survey is strictly confidential and takes about 30 minutes to complete.
The National LGBT College Climate Survey is a comprehensive assessment to document annually the experiences of students, faculty, staff, and administrators who identify as LGBT at America's colleges and universities. The annual assessment examines emerging issues, trends, and changing demographics of LGBT people in higher education. The information gained by this study will be used to provide better services for LGBT people and in creating safer, more inclusive campus communities at colleges and universities across the United States.

2) Web Conference: "Breakthrough AlcoholEdu Efficacy Results: A Summary of Recent Studies from Around the Country"
Outside The Classroom is hosting a Web conference, "Breakthrough AlcoholEdu Efficacy Results: A Summary of Recent Studies from Around the Country," Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 1:00-2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. There is no registration fee for this Web conference.
To assess the efficacy of Outside The Classroom's online alcohol education course, randomized control trials were conducted with first-year college students at individual institutions. This presentation will review two recent investigations that compare the results of pre- and post-intervention knowledge tests and behavioral surveys for randomly assigned control groups and AlcoholEdu experimental groups.
