The Higher Education Center is pleased to make the following announcements:

1) 2009 National Conference on the Social Norms Approach

The National Social Norms Institute at the University of Virginia and The BACCHUS Network are hosting the 2009 National Conference on the Social Norms Approach, July 12-14, 2009, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Registration is $385 by June 23, 2009, and $435 after this date.

Newcomers to the social norms approach are invited to attend to challenge their thinking and gain essential information about the strategy. Those currently involved in a social norms project will find opportunities at the conference to expand their knowledge and sharpen their skills in the approach.

2) Call for Programs: Mid-Atlantic College Health Association Annual Conference

The Mid-Atlantic College Health Association is now accepting program submissions for the 2009 Annual Conference, "Climbing to New Heights in College Health," scheduled for October 11-12, 2009, in Morgantown, Virginia. The submission deadline is May 15, 2009.

College Health Professionals are seeking to expand their knowledge concerning Student Health Care. Suggested topics include (other ideas welcome):

-What types of new recreational drugs are being used?
-What are the latest trends in college health?
-What's new in preventive medicine?
-What are the new illness challenges evolving on college campuses?
-Tips for providing quality student-health care in an economically-challenging environment?
