HEC/News-Announcements
The Higher Education Center is pleased to make the following announcements:
1) ACHA Call for Programs Deadline Extended
The new deadline for submitting a proposal for the American College Health Association's (ACHA's) 2009 Annual Meeting is Monday, September 22, 2008.
For a part of the 2009 meeting, the ACHA will include a special focus on cultural competency. Each section program planner is encouraged to select for presentation a program that best addresses cultural competency from that discipline's viewpoint.
For more information, and to download the Call for Program forms, please visit the Call for Programs section of the ACHA Web site: http://www.acha.org/AnnualMeeting09/.
2) ACPA Foundation Grant Opportunity
The ACPA Foundation is the fundraising organization for American College Personnel Association (ACPA) College Student Educators International. Specifically, the Foundation seeks philanthropic support for ACPA initiatives involving research and scholarship, professional development and leadership programs for student affairs professionals in higher education.
The research grants usually range from $1,000 to $2,500 for one-year projects. Multi-year grants are also available. Funding eligibility is limited to ACPA members who are conducting research that is consistent with the purposes and interests of ACPA: to enhance the student affairs profession and disseminate knowledge about college students.
Proposals must be submitted electronically by October 15, 2008.
For more information and application materials, please visit the Grants section of the ACPA Foundation Web site: http://www.my-elf.org/grants/index.html.
