The Higher Education Center is pleased to make the following announcements:

1) New Field Example: GIS Mapping for Prevention Project, Marshall University

The Higher Education Center has added a new Field Example to the Web site about the GIS Mapping for Prevention Project at Marshall University. The Cabell County Substance Abuse Prevention Partnership (CCSAPP)-a broad-based community prevention coalition-started in March 2006. The partnership was focusing on environmental strategies to reduce underage drinking when project staff decided to use geographic information system (GIS) to conduct a GIS mapping project related to location of alcohol-related incidents.

2) New Feature Posted to Higher Education Center's Web Site

A list of "Recent News" is now available for a variety of topics on the Higher Education Center's Web Site. To view the latest news about alcohol, for example, go to: http://www.higheredcenter.org/high-risk/alcohol and click on "Recent News" under "Related Links" on the right-hand side of the page. A list of recent news articles about alcohol will appear.

3) Perspectives in Peer Programs Seeking Editorial Board Members

Perspectives in Peer Programs, the national on-line peer-reviewed journal for the National Association of Peer Program Professionals, is seeking editorial board members to review manuscripts. If you would like more information about this organization, please visit http://www.peerprogramprofessionals.org. Prospective reviewers should have an interest in peer programs and a solid record of articles in refereed publications.
