“For supporters of the city's 21-only ordinance, the early returns look promising.”

“Comparing June 2010, the first month of the ordinance, with June 2009, many offenses generally associated with alcohol have dropped.”

“The 21-only ordinance mandates that anyone 20 or younger is not permitted in drinking establishments after 10 p.m. City and university officials championed for the measure as a means to combat underage drinking after other measures proved unsuccessful. The ordinance has been opposed by student groups and will appear on the November midterm election ballot. …”
