"Jackson State University has implemented a new emergency notification system to keep students, faculty and staff informed about potential hazards."

"University officials are urging people to sign up to receive alerts during situations that pose a threat to public safety, including 'acts of violence, dangerous weather, natural disasters and public health emergencies (like) the H1N1/swine flu outbreak.'"

"'We strive to be on the forefront of campus security, and ensuring the safety of our campus community is one of our highest priorities,' JSU President Ronald Mason Jr. said in a news release. 'We are continuously evaluating ways to strengthen campus safety, and the Everbridge emergency notification system is another innovative tool in our all-hazards, multi-layered approach to emergency preparedness.' ..."
