“University of Iowa President Sally Mason has vowed new sanctions for students and a redoubled effort to address harmful drinking if Iowa City Council passes a 21-only bar entry ordinance.”

“Easy access to alcohol in Iowa City, where 19- and 20-year-olds can enter bars, has limited the effectiveness of UI’s efforts to curb drinking, Mason said in a three-page letter to City Council. Mason expects a 21-only standard where the minimum bar entry age matches the legal drinking age to enable more successful initiatives, she said…”
