SCSU argues one more bar is too many

"Since September, 26 Southern Connecticut State University students have been sent to the hospital for detox after drinking too much alcohol..."

"That fact, and the availability of cheap drinks at Westville bars, prompted Ronald Herron, Southern's vice president of student and university affairs, and a dozen residents to speak out this week against a proposed bar and restaurant on Fitch Street..."

"About 21 percent of 2,700 SCSU students who live on campus are over 21, said Herron, but the ads some bars put online for cheap drinking games are aimed at the entire population..."
