URI reviews procedures after alcohol-related illnesses

"The Kid CuDi hip-hop concert in the Ryan Center Oct. 12 brought a renewed and unwelcome spotlight on drinking at the University of Rhode Island, where officials have worked hard over nearly two decades to shed the “party school” image that plagued the Kingston campus in the early 1990s."

The evening of the sold-out event, URI’s emergency medical services and rescue workers from five nearby communities treated more than 30 concert-goers for alcohol-related illness or injury, taking 11 of them to South County Hospital. ..."
