UWM won't discipline students who report emergencies, chancellor says

"UWM will not discipline any student who reports an emergency involving another student or companion - or reports an emergency that he or she is experiencing. If it is discovered that a student is aware of a person in serious and immediate distress but does not seek help, UWM will refer that student to the dean of students' office for investigation and potential discipline."

"The campus will increase efforts to help students evaluate their alcohol or drug use to better understand the risks and dangers, with the help of the Make Good Decisions campaign. Still, UWM will strictly enforce all laws and policies under its jurisdiction regulating the sale and use of alcohol."

"The UWM Police Department will expand efforts with the Milwaukee Police Department to pursue all available criminal and civil sanctions against people believed to be selling or distributing illegal substances to UWM students..."
