The Alcohol Policies and Prevention Programs Committee Report adopted by the Board of Trustees of the California State University (CSU) calls for an annual alcohol education conference for campus alcohol advisory council members and other interested persons. The committee is pleased to announce the 7th Annual California Higher Education Alcohol and Other Drugs Education Conference: Alcohol and...Other Drugs, Violence, Tobacco and You, April 24–25, 2008, at CSU, in Long Beach, California.
The planning committee of the 2008 California Higher Education Alcohol and Other Drugs Education Conference recognizes the significance of examining from a holistic approach behaviors that may jeopardize students’ safety. Alcohol abuse is often accompanied by other dangerous activities, resulting in multiple risks for students. Prevention must include environmental strategies and address the multiple ways alcohol and/or drug abuse can affect the lives of our students. This year’s conference was designed with this comprehensive theory in mind.
In addition, an increasing number of students are attending the CSU Higher Education Alcohol and Other Drugs Education Conference each year. The input and presence of these committed student leaders provide a reality check and fresh perspectives.
For more information and to register for the conference, visit the Alcohol and...Other Drugs, Violence, Tobacco and You Web site or contact Ralph Davis, CSU's alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs program coordinator at (562) 985-5859 or rdavis@csulb.edu.
