The Web site is active and registration is open for the National Meeting on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention in Higher Education, October 18–20, 2010, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland (Washington, D.C., area).

Conference Information

2010 National Meeting will include workshops and presentations in the following priority areas:

  • Alcohol, other drug, and violence (AODV) prevention and interventions
  • Violence prevention and intervention includes, but is not limited to, sexual assault, domestic/relationship violence, stalking, hazing, bullying, hate crimes, harassment and physical sexual, and/or emotional abuse
  • Mental health and AODV prevention nexus
  • Campus and community AODV prevention coalitions
  • Evidence-based and innovative programs
  • AODV prevention and interventions for students representing diverse groups, including, but not limited to, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, and other areas
  • The connection between AODV prevention and college retention and improving graduation rates

Conference sessions will focus on the following:

  • New research, evaluation, and survey findings
  • Promising and effective programs
  • Training and skill-building
  • New trends
  • Technology-enabled programs
  • Resources available to the field
