The Ohio State University Community Safety Institute Knowledge and Resource Center announces the video archive of their June 2009 conference, Promoting Community Safety and Preventing Violence: Integrating Lessons from Research and Practice. This conference provided an opportunity for participants to learn from each other about the latest knowledge on community safety and violence prevention issues. Each session was designed to include the perspectives of researchers and practitioners working in the violence prevention field. The program was organized into four thematic tracks:
1. Reentry and Community Corrections
2. Community Partnerships and Comprehensive Violence Reduction Strategies
3. Juvenile Justice, Youth Violence, and Delinquency Prevention
4. Domestic, Intimate Partner, Family, or Sexual Violence, and Human Trafficking
While the conference focused on community-based prevention efforts, campus professionals will benefit from information presented in Track 2 and 4. Of particular interest is Track 2, Session 3, where the partnership between Ohio State University and the City of Columbus to address campus-related prevention efforts is explored.
