The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has updated its e-mail alert resource. The former system, called the “SAMHSA Information Mailing System” (SIMS), was replaced by the eNetwork. The updated system is more automated, has more features and flexibility, and allows SAMHSA to serve subscribers better. The eNetwork is designed for those who want to receive information about SAMHSA’s work in the substance abuse and mental health fields, and it provides a personal link to SAMHSA for the latest news about its grants, publications, campaigns, programs, and statistics and data reports.

When subscribers join the eNetwork, they can indicate specific areas of interest to receive up-to-the-minute information about only those topics. Subscribers can update these areas of interest by clicking on “Update My Profile.” Subscribers also can unsubscribe at any time to stop receiving information from SAMHSA instantly.

Information sent to subscribers via SAMHSA’s eNetwork includes:

* New SAMHSA grant announcements
* New National Survey on Drug Use and Health data findings
* SAMHSA news releases
* Information about SAMHSA campaigns and initiatives, such as underage drinking prevention, suicide prevention, and National Alcohol and Drug Recovery Month
* Newly published substance abuse treatment publications, such as Treatment Improvement Protocols (TIPs) and Substance Abuse Treatment Advisories
